Arts Council England has introduced a new application portal and it sometimes can seem not straightforward, whether you have applied before or are approaching it for the first time. This short online session, led by Luke Emery, one of the In Good Company Artist Support Producers, aims to help you feel prepared and confident before you start working on your next bid.
Across thirty minutes, Luke will guide you through the essentials, beginning with what you can get ready in advance to avoid last minute surprises. You will see parts of the portal that are easy to overlook, learn about known quirks that can catch applicants out, and get a clear summary of the changes to application questions, including updated word counts and shifts in structure. The session also explains what happens once you press submit so the full journey is more transparent.
The walkthrough will be demonstrated through live screen sharing, making it easy to follow each step. After the main section, there will be fifteen minutes for questions so you can raise anything that still feels uncertain. The session is open to anyone who has applied to Arts Council England in the past and has not yet used the new system, as well as newcomers. A recording will be shared afterwards.
To make the most of the session, we highly recommend having your Arts Council applicant profile setup. It can take up to 10 working days for ACE to confirm your new profile has been approved. If your profile is approved before the session, it is well worth you taking some time to get familiar with the new portal as it may help you think of some questions that you might want to bring to the session
